New Year's Eve concert in Vienna: two concerts on 31 December
Strauss and Mozart in the King's Hall at 18:30 or 20:30, with the evening still ahead of you.

Two concerts on 31 December
On New Year's Eve the orchestra plays twice in the King's Hall of the Haus der Industrie, Schwarzenbergplatz 4: at 18:30 and at 20:30. On New Year's Day there is a concert at 20:30.
Each concert lasts about 90 minutes with one intermission. The 18:30 concert ends around eight, in time for dinner; after the 20:30 concert there are still two hours until midnight.

The Blue Danube, as at the New Year's Concert
The programme ends with Johann Strauss II's An der schönen blauen Donau, the traditional encore of the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert, together with Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms and Strauss polkas, and soprano Anna Ryan. The programme may vary from concert to concert.
The Philharmonic's own concert on the morning of 1 January in the Musikverein is a separate event; its tickets are allocated by a draw about a year in advance.
Midnight in the city
On 31 December the old town becomes the Silvesterpfad, a New Year's Eve trail of stages and stalls through the city centre. At midnight the Pummerin, the great bell of St. Stephen's Cathedral, rings in the new year, the radio plays the Blue Danube, and people waltz in the streets.

Getting there and home
Trams D, 2 and 71 stop at Schwarzenbergplatz, directly outside the hall. On New Year's Eve the U-Bahn runs through the night.
Booking is by request: choose 31 December or 1 January in the calendar, pick a category and send your request, and our office contacts you to complete the booking.
